Tender and Contract Management
The team at SMT have managed multi-million dollar tenders and contracts over many sectors of Defence Industry. Consultants appreciate “best value for money” practice and work toward ensuring best value is achieved for our clients.
Through professional knowledge of Defence Procurement Policies and ASDEFCON templates, SMT Consultants are able to provide support to DMO for major acquisitions and support to Defence Industry when analysing and submitting tender responses. SMT has a detailed understanding of Defence requirements, tender and decision making processes.
Integrated Logistics Systems
SMT consultants have a diverse wealth of knowledge within both sustainment and project functions in the sphere of Defence Industry including the Defence Material Organisation. “Managed a Defence ‘TOP 10 PROJECT’ a complex and highly demanding programme to procure 144 armoured vehicles within a tight inflexible deadline and $700m budget”.
“Responsible for two Defence TOP 20 Projects (ASLAV and BUSHRANGER). Responsible to ensure that both projects met their cabinet directed outcomes in terms of delivery schedule, cost and quality”
“Established an Explosive Reserve capability for South Australia and also includes property improvement, infrastructure, refurbishment, the construction of explosive storehouses as well as the relocation of the current explosive reserve from suburban Adelaide”
“Created, assessed, maintained and implemented risk management process (based on PREDICT) for Defence based projects”
“Prepared and maintained a variety of project plans using Prince2 methodology; including the project management plan that would stand the most vigorous scrutiny from Government and senior committees for the Defence Material Organisation (DMO).
“Provided strategic planning advice to Ministerial level committee regarding the positioning of the Northern Territory to capture logistic and through-life support opportunities within Defence”
“Provided strategic advice to a number of Board level committees regarding opportunities within the Defence sector. Provided bid management advice and preparation on a number of Defence related projects.
“Project Management and lead negotiator for $1m ATV acquisition to support Land 40-1 with the Department of Defence”
“Bid Management and preparation of two tenders regarding On-shore Detention Centres contracts with the Department of Immigration & Citizenship.
Our Approach
SMT understands that experience counts in managing and submitting multi-million dollar defence tenders. Our consultants have many years senior experience within the defence services, providing SMT Consulting with a deep insight into Defence tender and contract management processes along with military decision-making processes.
In Defence logistics consulting, SMT understands that military logistics is the art and science of planning and carrying out the movement and maintenance of military forces. We understand that Logistics is not an exact science and that no mathematical formula or set of tables tells precisely what supplies or services will be needed, where and when they will be needed, or the best way to provide them – but our expertise can help in overcoming the variability and providing value for money for the Defence dollar.
